EAS Issue

As a precautionary measure, I bought a EAS Cable from Storey Wilson a couple of weeks ago - I figured that if I had an EAS fault at some stage I'd at least have the kit to investigate and possibly fix it....

It arrived on friday - bonza I thought....

Anyway, the wife now tells me that she keeps finding it sitting on its bump stops (or at least at Access Level) - this generally seems to happen overnight, but has also happened when she has left it to go shopping etc for a few hours.

So, I'm guessing there is a leak in the system somewhere and that the compressor is probably working its arse off to keep the vehicle up.

So my question is (and yes, I know "do a search" - well I have and I'm confused by the myriad of answers!) - where is the leak likely to be? I'm sort of hoping that its not each and every air spring that has a leak - but I am thinking its probably closer to a single point of failure - ie the compressor....

Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

i reckon mine has a leak somewhere as it sometimes does this, would it not drop all four bags if there was a leak on just one, as in self levelling suspension??

sometimes though it will sit up all night. in the morning it will get up to height within a couple of seconds.

one way to check the pump is to wait till its dropped and sit in the car, start it and see how long it takes to get up, if it does it within a few seconds the pump is probably fine,measure its height, now stop the car, and see how long it takes to go down. i'm not sure however if it should go down over night or if its a problem. mine clicks/chirps and you can hear and see it adjust the height when left!!

Its probably my fault cos I bought the cable for the EAS!

don't buy anything else till something goes!!!

or get a lotto ticket and keep it in the car!!!

or as a last resort you could get the latest best seller from whoever your god may be!!!!

trouble with that is if it never brakes down its a miacle, if it does breakdown it's god's will!!!

Hopefully you have received the cable. Let me know if you have not already. Have you seen my videos on checking the condition of the air-springs? They are typically the first to go in the overall system. At around 80-100K miles, or 8-10 years, they being to suffer. It also depends on the environment in which they operate. Also have you seen the video on checking for leaks using soapy water?

You do have a leak.
Better find it sooner than later. If you are on the bump stops overnight, this is a pending EAS fault.

If one has a leak, would that drop the entire vehicle, or just a corner?
