As some of you may know, I've had various issues over time, but most recently I've replaced the air bags as they were all part their best and leaking enough to notice a height drop when left for a week.
I got all the height values set and thought all was good, but because I'm a bit obsessive, put my hand on the air compressor after a5 minn drive and nearly burnt my fingers!! So i unplugged the under seat relay, let it cool down then drove back home. Apart from the dash alert, all was fine. Compressor was too hot to touch again!! :(
Plugged nanocom in and there's no faults so that's a start. Opened FL, FR, RL valves when i open RR, the front left starts rising height so i turned it off. Surely that's not right?
There's air in the tank as it changes height quickly, so no leak there. What have i missed?
It's sat at normal height now with the relay still removed and not obviously losing height anywhere and no audible leak
I'll wager is something obvious!

The air is either going somewhere or the compressor is weak. Think there may be an error with Nanocom, I'm sure I have read about some crossed over readings.

The Cut off for the compressor is 120c if memory serves and the maximum temp a hooman can grab is 60c unless you have asbestos hands!

You have to remember the EAS compressor is in an enclosed box with an engine sat right next to it!!

The D2 and RRC's EAS system was more intelligently designed, the EAS compressor was mounted on the chassis and stayed much cooler!!

My compressor is brand new and it gets quite hot, even though I KNOW my EAS has no leaks.

Thanks both. I thought pulling the relay stopped everything from working, including the pump, but maybe not!
I'll check the output from the pump as soon as i get a chance, assume that's pulling the pipe that goes to the dryer and see if i can keep my finger over the end while it's running

Pulling the delay relay stops the EAS functioning after the key is turned off, this allows you to spot if one side sags from a leak..

Usually it'll level to the lowest side if there is a leak and you can't tell which one is dropping..

With the key on the EAS functions normally.

its always the way! i need to make a long journey before I've done any more digging, is there a fuse i can pull to protect the compressor?

To check the compressor output, undo the blue pipe in the EAS box.
As Henry says, the compressor can get quite hot.
You can pull a fuse or the compressor relay to stop it running.
