Ok so I take the beastie (2001 Vogue) for its annual MOT, straight pass, no advisories :clap2: hurrah, but how does she repay me....the next day it sits on its bump stops, 35mph home....grrrr.

I have a EAS kicker lite which has always got me out of these situation before but this time no go...6 red lights. So I purchase the leads and software to get rid of the hard faults, all is going well, I get the car talking to my laptop but can't get rid of the faults.

On the Tx I get a series of FF's and 1's and this is duplicated in the Rx column, FF's and 1's, which I understand should be a just a series of FF's.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I found that I could't communicate properly with the EAS ECU last year.

I took the OBD port out and found that it was corroded from a drip that was coming from blocked A/C drains.

I went to a scrap yard and found a couple of newish accident damaged cars and cut out the OBD ports.

When I got home, I pulled the pins out from one and put them into the other in the same positions as the P38, then soldered the new one in taking care to use heat shrink tubing on all the joints.

That solved my communication problems.

I also cleaned out the A/C drains to prevent a repeat performance.
