The lad is lucky to have someone like you to help him come to terms with his loss.

Thank you Datatek,
Least I could do , my wife and I love the lad like if he was our own. He does not need another dad and I tell him that. I just want my late best friends son to be happy and safe.
Gives his mum some breathing space and allows them to grieve, they are really close again now and he opens up a lot more to her which is a massive step forward for him :):)

I tried and failed but that does not mean it cannot be done mate :)
Have you tried a smaller allen key head up the hole as it may be a smaller head sometimes. Worth a try.
Try metric and imperial as ting tongs will use whatever they have in stock ;)
You were spot on kurt . It was a smaller allen key. Loads of release spray for several hours and YEEESSSSSSS cracked it One loosened off grub screw. I will sort out everything tomorrow. Quite chuffed now.:D:D

A little love goes a long way:D

Update guys. I have now completed rebuild and now the proud owner of a spare EAS compressor. Lots would agree its one of those essential spares to have:D:D
I have a spare compressor but have never needed it, the one on my original P38 has been working fine for over 10 years now after I refurbished it. I do save it a lot of work though by keeping the suspension locked at motorway height.:D

I presume you have to press the down button each time you start the car ? Tried the inhibit button on mine, and it works until next time I start the car.

No with the inhibit button pressed, it stays at motorway height, in fact both my P38's do and that is how it should operate with the inhibit button pressed.

I wonder if the inhibit function varies with different versions of ECU ?

Tried it again today. Start car & then with Inhibit on, selected motorway height. Stayed that way on journey to shops. Switched ignition off & went shopping. As soon as I started the car it reverted to standard height, even though the inhibit was still lit.

Will double check the ECU is seeing the inhibit, but it must be to allow manual selection of motorway. With inhibit off, the down button jumps from standard straight to access. I would certainly like this wo work the way yours does.

What year is your car? The owners hand books I have infer that the car should stay at the locked height either normal or motorway for towing. No good if you stop for a break and have to remember to reset the suspension before continuing your journey.
