Eas Air Leak

Hi Everyone

I have got another question before I check it over on Friday, the drivers side rear suspension is quite low and when you start up you do have to wait a while before it levels out, while driving its ok for a while then although the light stays on normal driving mode you can tell it is low due to going over any imperfections on the road it sounds as if your driving on the bump stops, quite loud etc oh and No EAS Fault message too.

What I would like to know any tips to check what to look for as I am assuming it is a leak possible cracks etc in the rubber so I am getting a new one lined up. I have read the range rovers net site on how to change it so I am ready for that but I just thought if there are any other things to look for as it does only seem to be the rear drivers side.

I had similar problem with my driver side front. I replaced the air spring only to find out later that it was the hose had been chafed through.

When I was in traffic or stopped at a level crossing, I could see my front going up and down every few seconds.

In the end I replaced the hose and it's been perfect (almost) ever since.

When I had the leak it used to take a few minutes before it got up to height. It must have drained the reservoir over night and relied on the compressor alone to raise up.

Now in the morning if it's been leveling itself over night, as soon as the engine starts the back end then the front just adjust and the light stops flashing within about 4 seconds. When stationary the front doesn't move.

Do you mean the hose connecting directly to the air spring? or was it somewhere else in the system?

Yes. In my case it was the 6mm hose directly from the valve block to the front o/s air spring. As it passed under the battery support it has rubbed through. I patched it up temporarily. I've since replace the whole length now and put some other thick hose around the 6mm hose for protection so it won't rub again in the same place.

I will also replace the hosing if it looks dodgy better safe than sorry

I hope the weather is ok for Saturday.

Checked it today and you can see the air spring is quite perished and also with the eas off it looked if it had collapsed. Started it up and when inflated it only held the air for a minute before it started to leak from the bottom.

Ordered a new one and will get it replaced.
