No real problems just concerns you may be able to help with.
Fitted a new EAS Pump from Rimmers -only reason really to cover all eventualities. Works fine but very noisy-it clacks loudly rather than the usual quick pumping sound noise. Should it go back?
Also normal height is only achieved after about a minute of driving. Rode in a similar P38 recently and was reminded of the 'dance' and virtual immediate normal height light. Am I being over cautious?

Have they secured the pump down correctly when fitting , is the plug pushed in fully ?
The newer pumps are noisier, did it have a yellow label on the compressor or white label?
 
Yes thanks for replies. I have talked to rimmers and I would have to fork out for another one, send this back and then wait to hear from their supplier for their observation. As it is working, in my mind not correctly, it is still in their court and I would expect a 'not our problem mate'. Any suggestions?
BTW pump is correctly fitted (I fitted it) and plug located properly. It is definitely the pump clacking though.
As to label, that is underneath I expect so dont know that one.

Video the noise and send Rimmers a copy, consumer law means they should offer a refund or replacement. you can always escalate to the small claims court. The prices Rimmers charge, they can well afford to help you.
 
I bought one from Rimmers £197 iirc it lasted 3 months, it was a Dunflop unit and as such is a complete pile of useless shít to be frank. ;)

They were a tad apprehensive about a refund, however after 3 weeks of back and forth I eventually got my money back..

Is it the same as the one in @Henry_b 's photo in post#12 with the aluminium end if it is it's a Dunlop Chinese shtte Get back on to them they know how bad they are.Video it as Datatek said and send it to them and ask for a refund stating it's not fit for purpose. Contact @kurtjohnson10 for a refurbished one.

They just try it on, you have to be firm when dealing with them but polite as well :).
The best way is to tell them you have a family that needs the use of the car and your wife drives it on her own so you need a reliable compressor. Its a pain sending it back but once you do then do not buy a Yellow label Dunlop one. They are rubbish Chinese crap dressed as a Dunlop product.
If you want one with a guarantee then your best bet is find a local 4x4 supplier that sells them over the counter so you can drop it straight back if its no good.
Definitely refurb your old one, always have a spare then for times like these :)

Utter crap the dunlops, the wear was excessive no eas leaks either so it didn't overwork ;)

+1, if they argue or want to drag their feet I find that phrases such as " not fit for purpose" and will be contacting Trading Standards usually provoke a response. May be worth saying you have asked on this forum and this is not a one off occurrence if your compressor is the same as the photo.

I would also quote that it would be just another customer who uses the forum having negative feedback towards their company and their lack of support when returning defective products that they have sold . State that you took the chance with them despite extremely poor reviews throughout the forum. That might get them shifting - might not also though - but worth a chance
 
OK chaps, great response and am now happy to proceed with a right proper roasting of Rimmers. Kurt, plainly you are the man for this so can I buy one of your refurbs and how do I go about it?
