Yes the 200tdi starter worked on my 84 diesel 2286, Nickjaxe helped when I did my 200di in series 3 keeping the battery under bonnet , I went for a smaller one can’t remember size maybe 65amp

I have now fitted a new 643 battery which easily starts it first time.

To change the size would have meant changing the battery holder, which had been modified for the 643.
