yeah the ones on the left tim look like disco 200 stub axles tbh cos they have that narrow section near the threads where that spacer thing sits

NOTE FOR EVERYONE

IF THE STUB AXLES HAVE A SLOT IN THEM AS OPPOSED TO A FLAT SECTION

THE CHANCES ARE

THE EQUIVALENT HUBS ARE THE ONES I AM LOOKING FOR! :D

cheers doc, yeah tbh thats what i expected!

do you wana split them axles up though?

tbh with a diff, shafts, hubs and AEU2522s youll get your 80 quid back :D

Dunno tbh as you say they may sell as a whole unit but not had any interest so far, although I may know of some new old stock ones for sale

The local place has a whole host of ex MOD new stuff which I'm buying up (need all the 10 spline shafts I can lay my hands on ) so they may have the stubs!

Are you sure the hubs are not the same???

drive member bolts may be different but i was led to believe the hubs were the same as they have the wider bearing spacing. you may need to buy different bolts.

late 200 tdi and all 300 they went to the skinny drive flanges and narrow bearing spacing (Shorter stub axle) previous were the same bearing spacing. different lock washers and bearing spacer washer but the spacing was the same right back to the early RRC although you would need to get drive member bolts to suit

Jai, I promise you the spacing is not the same, had all the hubs in front of me for comparison!

You can clearly see a skinny portion on a disco stub axle where the spacer thing is supposed to fit, this is not present on a early defender stub axle and it physically stops you fitting the first nut on fAr enough when trying to fit disco hub to defender stub

I had the same thinking as you until yesterday!

Bumpety bump please thank you ladies, REALLY appreciated anyone taking the time to battle the wind and rain etc to take pics of what they have.

I know it's a pretty rare ask looking for these bastard old hubs these days but I need them and moderately desperately at that.

You'll be helping me get the car to Donny indoor 4x4 show if it makes you feel any better, a properly good cause indeed! :p

This leaves you enough thread aslong as the spacer early 90 type the one next to the outter bearing can go in far enough to mate against the bearing inner. I guess if he disco hub outter bearing is machined deeper or inboard by a few mm then you may struggle without modifying spacer washers. I have changed bits around but they were probably early RRC bits.

The outer seal is pants anyway

Can't fit the disco spacer onto slotted type stub axles cos I did consider that!

Only option is to use all correct parts unless I get into machining disco flatted spacer out round but I don't have immediate access to a lathe

Plus would like to have bearings as widely spaced as possible just for the hell of it and keep custom parts down to a minimum!
