The Auction is literally 2.5mi from me so i might pop by.

Richards Davos white RRC will be there.

He's done a good resto series on the tube.

always fancied an early rangie before the electrickery got too much, they are nice and spartan.

just not the right time for me to move on one of those projects.

I'm in for the Austin Metro Mayfair, corker of a motor, no reserve too :)

All the Range Rovers look fooked and fit for the scrap, there is nothing much to save there and if anything they will be little more than money pits for buyers and trying to make something out of them will cost you dearly, don't get me wrong, I love a 2 door RRC but these are all way past it and even for my magical welding talents they're a stretch too far :(

that saab 96 looks interesting.

hasd another look at the rangie pics, they do look a bit manky, yellow one seems to be about the best

I am yet to see what is "a modern classic" when describing a 2000 model year BMW or Merc, modern classic they are not, they are on the other hand plastic consumable junk that won't be repairable in less than a decade and many parts are obsolete now and dealers are unwilling to help.

There's no such thing as too far gone in regards to Landies, especially the RRC, and even more so with your particular set of skills!! :D

metro mayfair went for £2016

restored rrc didn't sell nor did the 110 prototype, the rrc projects went for between £1,800 and £2,300

not bad prices if you have the skills to get them back on the road imho

I had a couple of revisits to the 2 door RRCs and there was one that I think was worth no more than £500, the others were £scrap

I posted this a few days ago. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/a-restoration-film.350049/ lot of love goes into bringing them back to life that is for sure.

the ved and mot exemption must be worth something of a premium, even at £2,300 you would save that in 8 years. if you have the time and the skill the cost of metal can't be that much. and if the engine and drivetrain are ok (which they probably aren't)

cost of your time, well…………... :D

one thing though, iirc with brightwells it is the buyer that pays most of the sale commission on top of what they pay for the car. seller pays entry fees up front and some of the commission on sale or rather what they get sent is sale price less their share of the commission.
