Hi, someone know something about error E4 on climatronic of Land rover Freelander TD4 2004? Thanks in advance Matteo from Florence Italy

So

You have an automatic air conditionning, and have E4 instead of the temperature display ?

The problem, automatic air conditionning comes as an option, there is almost no documentation.

What are the issue, no heating, air flow to the maximum ?

Hi,

Since when do you have the car ?

Does it heat, when the engine is at temperature ?
Can you control the air flow level ?
Can you see the internal / external temperature ?

Oo an FL1 with electronic climate control, that's rare.
It was a seriously expensive option on the later facelift cars only, but it was so expensive that almost nobody optioned it.
As Andy said above, it's virtually undocumented in an service or maintenance manual.
However it's still just AC, but with servo controls of the blend doors, so start with simple stuff like making sure the refrigerant is at the correct pressure.

Hi,

Have read the code with a fault reader ? With an OBD reader ?

Do hear the Compressor Clutch engaging when you put the air conditionning on ? Simply push manytimes the « auto » button.
Manual / auto -> AC On.
Eco -> AC Off.

Is the radiator fan in front of car running, when you put AC On ?

Yes my meccanic try tò check the error by Is computer, but nothing come out.
When AC Is on the compressor running, in eco no running.

Maybe some help, an e4 error on a rover is inside temp sensor issue. Where it is I don't know. But I looked for e4 air con fault rover. If you can find some images it may be the same system.

I believe the Rover 45/MG ZS climate control from 2003/4 share many similarities to the system installed in the same age Freelander.

Hi

There is a temp button to switch between interior and exterior temp sensor.
The one that is still working should still display a temperature.

The internal one should be plugged to the climate control, just next to it.
The external is on the front bumper grid.

Temp sensor should not fail, certaintly a broken wire ...

E4 seems to be related to ambient temperature.
E0, E5, E9 seems to be related to in car temperature.
