Well I have given him plenty of chances to reply to me so yes its now a nice letter to hmrc and trading standards,(can you say you are not a trader when you advertise so many cars on ebay in a short space of time)
Strangely payments are made to his wife,so they must both be involved.
Course you cant, I wouldnt have bought from this guy in the first place. Flat out dodgy. If you phone a private seller always ask about "the car", never be specific. If they are a dealer trying to shirk their responsibilities and taxes you want nothing to do with them.

I'll second that. I've driven 250 miles round trip to view a car on e-bay and it was a dog ( a lot of stuff that should have been in the engine bay was in the boot!), took one look and headed home. I now take time and wait for something to come up that's easy to go and view. Being in a rush is your enemy. The true fraudsters who list items that don't exist often use remote addresses to make it hard to go and view. A trick I use to check is to go on google streetview and take a look, then move a few houses along and get an address. Then I e-mail and say "oh my freind lives at xxx, its the house with the red door (or whatever) and he can pop over and take look". I don't take no and string them along for the fun, they get more and more desperate with excuses.
