After a crappy hour at the dentist I returned home to find bitch dumping its coolant on the drive. I didn't have much time to investigate as I had an appointment elsewhere but it seems to be coming from the metal pipe that connects the heater pipe to the engine block below the thermostat housing. So its either the retaining bolt come loose or the securing bracket sheared from the pipe. It seems to hold water and pressure until the pipe is moved. Tomorrow will tell, anyone think of another cause bar the o ring.:(

Seems to be available as you say, but our local fastener suppliers say it's a 'non-standard' range, they don't stock it and neither does our other supplier, but plenty on the web.

Yep i would be surprised if my local fastener supply did not have them. However 20 mm down to 18 is not a big deal. The correct part does have a thick washer attached. https://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-LR009113

Looking at some of the DIN fastener tables, 18mm is in brackets as a non-preferred size, which is probably why we've never used it, but availability is OK.

We don't actually use 16mm either, but we have a draw of them in the bolt rack!
