Really? Will that work for LPG too? What if I just put the magnets on the fuel tank? I could fit a really big one on there!!

Should do, apparently it smooths out the fuel flow by aligning the molecules. So if you fit a really big one in the tank all the fuel molecules will be straight before they go into the lift pump. Bound to improve things greatly.

:D

Edit: Ok, why can't I do the big grin smiley? Something is changing the 'D' to a 'd' when I submit a post.

Edit2: and now it works, making me look stupid. Anyway, :D at the straight molecules stuff :D

Agree. :d

PS Just wrote AGREE in capitals and the smiley. That's how it came out.

PPS. Fullstop first doesn't work either. Think the system lag needs chipping. :D:D:D

Have relivened this thread as frankly the car is turning into a bloody project after all. Pictures will be displayed at some point.

Having found that there is a some leakage from my oil cooler pipes, I have decided to for go paying LR the vast sums for the replacements and just replace the hose.

Have ordered some 5/8 pipe for the engine cooler and 1/2 for the gearbox cooler.. The plan is to cut the metal lines and seal and clamp the rubber hose in place, making the lines longer or shorter as required to fit a bit neater around the rest of the things i am now doing...

Having removed more and more of the car to get to various parts, it became more noticable that there was a substantial amount of oil breathing out of the intercooler. Coating the front left innards of the vehicle...

Current position of the project:

Front bumper off
Intercooler out
Oil cooler removed
Air con condenser floating
Car full of parts of itself....

With all parts out and various internet investigations completed, the project is as follows

New intercooler, from a SAAB to be fitted (considerably bigger and free)
Oil cooler to be relocated above intercooler some how..
Aircon condenser to be mounted to something somehow..
Praying that the oil cooling system doesnt just explode when the car is started..
Oh an i have a PSI powerbox that i took out of a salvage car to fit as well...

hoping for a nice power boost and some less leakage..

Brilliant all this talk of POWER and the cars in bits before you have even started :D bumper off:confused:
As for the cooler pipes just go and buy some you might need a cooler you might not, get it back together and drive the Damm thing before it rots!

If what you want is lower end torque, the psi powerbox is a wrong way to go.
You need a good chip, along this thread someone mentioned the VES chip from Ebay. Its the one that i have and its quite impressive.
But even if you have a good chip that gives you lower end torque you will still have a problem.
The diesel autobox has a small torque converter that will let all that low end torque slip away.
I have that VES chip (used to have a psi powerbox), i also have the bigger intercooler from Island 4x4, but the biggest difference came from the uprated torque converter from Ashcroft.

Great news for people who feel ive ruined my car, last night some nice person dumped brake fluid over my roof.. Now its proper ruined....

Bad news dude, probably some eco-loons been brainwashed at school into thinking that 4x4s are killing the planet man - even though old cars that could last for decades are actually kinder to the planet than making new "eco" cars to replace them.

I'd love to catch tossers like that - the ambulance men would have to use a shovel to get 'em on the stretcher.

Or the fire brigade could rinse them own a drain. Bloody tossers why would anybody do a thing like that?

Have taken in for some inspection and the damage is pretty brutal..

Main options are:

Repair paint work as best as possible

Complete strip and start again

Vinyl the roof on a primer coat, in black maybe...

Hmmm, decisions decisions...

The vinyl option is cheaper than the excess i'd have to pay, as i have to claim on my insurance and im not covered for vandalism..

Well some options are do able to save it then :)

post up some pics and maybe some bodyshop guys can advise??

Productive weekend on the old, if not battle scared girl.

New intercooler fitted and oil cooler relocated above it. Spacing increased between condenser intercooler and the radiator so hopefully help cooling.

Oil cooler rubber hoees fitted, just trimmed the original hardlines to make the fit better.

New intercooler hoses fitted. Couple of old parts used, which then exploded on the test drive typically.

Psi powerbox fitted.

Just need to replace gearbox lines now as one has a small leak.

Need to try an reset the wastegate as im only recording 12 - 13 psi boost so a little down with the bigger intercooler.
