hiya all, i've got a 54 year freelander 1 td4 and in the past 2 months when i've left the house in the morning (to go to work) the rear door window has been open.
my local L/R dealer say he can't find a fault, and recomends buying a new ECU? unit..at £160+.

Has anyone any idea about this problem...
thanks derryk

Hi Derryk,
Try an advanced search on - Search: Keyword(s): open, rear, window ; Forum: Land Rover Freelander and child forums
Just done this one and it brought up a whole page of problems with rear windows.
May give you a starting point?

the key fob was in the cupboard drawer...so i wern't pressing any buttons

Mine does the same on very rare occasions, mostly after torrential rain. Like you I kept the keyfob away out of range, & suspect it's something to do with water ingress.

Check you main battery is okay. If the Central control unit (CCU), not the Engine Management unit (ECU), resets then it looses datum on the back window and opens it fully, undemanded. Daft I know but thats how it works. Could be because of a battery volt drop off or a bad connection.
