Driving without rear propshaft

My Rear diff has failed on a discovery 2 2003, I need to move the car to a garage to fix it. Can I just remove the rear prop and drive in front wheel drive only. The centre dif can be locked to give drive to the front. The garage is only 5 miles away. many thanks

yes, but make sure you put the nuts back on the drive flange at the handbrake drum as the drum can fall off

Been there and done that, a little embarrassing on the motor way when it flys off.
