I managed to mangle the drivers door handle when the door was frozen shut. Anyway, the door wouldn't open from the outside. It seems that the replacement part is very expensive. I wanted to confirm that it is possible to get a rear door handle from the same side of the car and use the door pull from it. A pin holds it in which can be tapped out from the top using a blunt 4 inch round nail, some WD40 and molegrips. Do the same on the broken one and tap the new pin in to hold the replacement door pull. There is another small pin which needs to be removed that holds the white plastic pusher thing. I swapped the white pushers and springs over as the original one was bowed and not too good and I reckon a rear door pull would have had a lot less wear then the drivers. So after 2 weeks of climbing in through the passenger side it's a big relief to have fixed it for £15! Hopefully this will save someone else a few quid!
