Freelander 1 Driver Door does not unlock with Fob

Hey all!

I have been reading across some forums where people are having issues with doors not unlocking / locking with the Fob.

Since I got my 1.8 F1 the Driver door has never unlocked with the fob but it does lock, I always thought that this was just how it was and didn't give it a second thought, is this meant to unlock with the fob? if so I guess I need to fix it

Yes it is !

Change the door lock with solenoids complete within it.

Do I need to do anything with the key or will it just work?

Leave the lock barrel as it is and refit to allow use of old key if needed.

I've had exactly this issue and just fixed mine recently! Only it was the passenger door.

I had a new lock unit so could just swapped the whole unit out. Fairly quick job but lmk if you have any questions, I might have some pics or something I can share if it helps!

I have same issue, now on all four doors after driver's stopped working yesterday, all lock but none unlock.
Do you have a part number for a 5 door F1 (2001) and or a good supplier, please?

If you are on a tight budget and willing to take the lock apart, you can just replace the actuator motor. I did my passenger side for £6.

Not on a budget but I do like doing that, I did it for the rear door not opening, what motor did you get?
