Ok so I've stripped 3 flanges in 4 weeks ordered a spanking new halfshaft and flange and fitted the former today. However again the diameter of the stub which slips inside the drum is too big so it won't fit. I'd previously robbed a part off my old 110 salisbury that fitted and one I picked up from a lad 2 weeks ago when I picked up a roll cage which both fitted perfect.

twice now I've ordered 24 splines flanges that don't fit.

Have salisbury got different parts?

there are thick and thin flanges,depending of whether its drum or disc, its unusual from the drum type to wear ,it is normally the disc axle type which wear through lack of lubricant because of seal in stub axle
 
Ok you got me. How does one tell the difference between a thick and a thin... For want of asking a stupid question.

Any idea on a part no.?

Just discovered id bought flanges to suit post 94 axles. I'm guessing this is my issue. I have no idea what age the salisbury is on my 110 but I'm guessing older than that

i wouldn't be running hd ones if it were me, you will end up killing the next weakest link.

you must have a problem with your setup
 
if you have spare shafts and spare ends that are striped turn ur mig up to high and nuke the shaft to the flange ,,,nowt to lose :rolly:
 
Yeah I don't really fancy that. It's not how it was designed. There has to be something causing it. It'll be something blindingly obvious that I can't see!
 
Bothered about welding a shaft that will width draw even when welded not how it was designed 😳😳 those wheels didn't cum up on the design sheet 🐔fix the weak link then chase the next weak link till no more weak link 👅 or just swap the wheels 🚜🚜🚜🚜

I'm only running 33s

My old 110 was on 33s for a year with not a hitch. I do think there's something up with it somewhere. It's not normal for it to be stripping them and to weld up is just a bodge which is just masking a problem deep down. It's had new halfshafts which made no difference.

Bloody thing

Especially as I'm just in the process of fitting boost alloys so replacement will involve wheel removal - Ball ache!
