Drive Before I Decide?

Yeah so the way I see it the 90 can do some things a little better, but the 110 can simply do things the 90 cannot (due to space) which makes it compelling for long term ownership, BUT I think with a little extra storage and things such a a tow bar bike rack as Kermit mentioned the 90 is perfectly adequate for me right now without kids and will definitely be a little (a lot?) more fun to drive.

I'm 60-40 in favour of a 110, but it depends on what comes up over over the next weeks/months.

Also try Auto Trader, there's a lot on there and prices seem a bit better than Ebay.

Autotrader is probably my favourite app on my phone so don't worry, I've got that covered haha. Unfortunately not able to make a 'wanted' post on these forums at the moment though due to my accounts age/activity or something I believe.

As someone who has used and owned both what do you think a 90 does better?

Other than having a slightly smaller turning circle due to length for everything else it is the same vehicle, same engines, same performance. There is no difference in them to drive (unless you are towing in which case a 90 is considerably worse as the short wheel base makes it very bouncy/choppy).

The only thing I can think of that a 90 does unequivocally better than a 110 is finding a parallel parking spot purely because it is shorter.

I am not against a 90 as said they are the same vehicle, but they are small, the only difference between them is the internal space with which a 110 has the ability for fit more things into it, more easily, making it better all around utility vehicle.

Definitely a very useful perspective for me to learn from - from my point of view I was mostly referring to the fact that it has the same engine/design etc but in a heavier and longer body (100-300kg difference?). This defender is unlike anything I've ever owned, but to me that weight difference must still be quite noticeable when accelerating, on a hill, or off road?

The parking/turning circle doesn't really concern me - I won't be using it as a daily (unless I change jobs), and I won't be driving too much in a city etc.

But yes, the loading ability and the options that open up while owning a 110 or a 90 are definitely very strong arguments and become harder and harder to resist the more I think about it.
