drilling fuel tank?

a couple of really strong magnets on the case right next to where you are drilling, (+ the grease as mentioned) once drilled feel on the inside of the tank and any swarf will be stuck to the inside top by the magnets + all the stuff that comes off the top will go to the magnets too.

I finks it's an ally tank??? Could be wrong though

Looks like stainless steel to me so depend ant on type it may not be magnetic, grease and a hoover sounds like the best suggestion

Thinking about all the hours you'll spend getting swarf out of the fuel system after the engine has died on you far from home, it seems to me that spending a day or so taking the tank out and putting it upside down to do the job isn't that bad an idea. Otherwise we'll be seeing a lot more of you on the international rescue thread!
