What was it fixed to? The magnet, not the broken half shaft?
Agree with Thor. I would stick it to the end of alloy or plastic bar with epoxy.
Think I will end up gluing it. Its only cos I found it at work that im asking. I probably wouldn't go out and buy one but handy to take off roading and doesn't take up any space.
Bonded into the end of a placcy tube might be good!
must admit to having two of then, a smaller one on a radio telescopic ariel type of thing, and another larger one - very strong magnet glued to a thicker type of telescopic wand, works very well for what I`ve ever used it for,
but as op sez, sticks to everything as you try to use it..alli tube would be good to "place it" though

I saw magnets for sale at Peterborough but never paid em any real attention.

The whole of the splined diff end part of the shaft shattered into about six pieces......had to play the 3 dimensional jig-saw puzzle game to make sure we had it all
