Hi guys, i need some help to help a friend with a 2008 3.6 TDV8, after i digged in the WSM and diagrams and everything i cant figure out which sensor it's about,
the code is
P242D-00 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit High Bank 1 Sensor 3 - Diesel particulate filter temperature sensor circuit....

i found the layout so can anyone tell me please which sensor is nr 3 according to the numbers in the pic ? or at least which is ''bank 1" to try to eliminate some

3.6 TDV8 DPF.jpg

1 Temperature sensor

2 Temperature sensor

3 Differential pressure sensor

4 Differential pressure sensor

5 Temperature sensor (2 off)

6 High pressure sensor pipe (2 off)

7 Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) (2 off)

8 Temperature sensor (2 off)

9 Low pressure sensor pipe (2 off)

Thanks

No 5 on the right hand on in the picture from what I know but may well be wrong others will know more than me.

Thanks for the quick response, even if the sensor is not 100% that can you confirm that the RH side on the pic is bank 1? that would reduce the search area

Hi,

I am getting the P242D error after driving a few miles but disappears after restart.
The error causes - Restricted Performance

Any idea why it is happening?

How to fix it?

Hi, did you get a resolution on this? I've also got a Disco 4 SDV6 and I've got error code P2036 - EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH BANK 2 SESNOR 2. I'm trying to find the sensors location and part number. Thanks!
