HI
while looking for an exhaust rattle under my 110 last night - there is a fairly loud annoying rattle coming from the front and when I grabbed the bottom of the downpipe it stopped. Looking up towards turbo I could see what appeared to be the remains of a snapped metal bracket bolted to the block. a bit of research seems to throw up part number esr169 - bracket.

my question is - how does this connect to the downpipe as there are no brackets on my down pipe - my assumption is that I use a normal u bolt clamp and that would fit into the two holes on the bracket?
sorry if bit daft!

Mine has a bracket welded to the downpipe, that then screws into another bracket that then fixes to the block.

I just bought a straight steel exhaust hanger and a U clamp from Halfords, and bolted the hanger to the block.
A length of metal with a few drilled holes would do the same as the hanger, as that's all it is.

I've had those bloody things snap for a pastime in various places on zorst systems....usually when I'm late for a laning meet

I left mine off, is it essential? Dos pipe seems secure with a couple of clips at the top

There was a post the other day guy concerned about engine noise, it turned out to be the downpipe had slid off the cast turbo bend.

thanks all, may just bodge somet myself then. need to stop the rattle as it is unreasonably loud - more than the "normal" 200tdi noises - and that's not exactly quiet so anything to make it better is worth the hassle!
