Morning all, going to be warm today.

Should be fitting my after market side steps, knocked up some nice brackets, second paint coat drying.

Have the normal battery drain when I reconnected the RF aerial, last P38 I had many years ago I had a socket mounted inside the front wheel arch at the top so easy to reach, may do the same but use a solar panel now.

Heard about the second fob idea but cannot find it on here. Could anyone outline the procedure and parts needed.

Thanks for the reply Pete, looks like carrying two remotes then, not really a problem as it is not a daily ride.
Bit concerned about remembering to de-energise the relay, they are not designed for continued voltage.

I am going to attempt to incorporate a 12v delay timer, very cheap and work from 0.1 sec to one hour, probably set at 20/30 secs to de-energise the unit preventing any overheating or component burn out if or when I forget to press the off button.

A good idea though and has probably helped many owners.

Will put it on here when I get around to it, have enough to do at the mo.
 
I have used a number of these units, garage doors, gates, even had one on my chicken coop at one time. They used to be quite expensive .......... now peanuts, just found one complete with two remotes in a garage.

The question is, does the fob receiver need to be on whilst driving, that is my hesitation, if not the momentary function would do the job.

These recievers normally state the relay must not be energised for X period of time so best to conform I guess.
So good information re the operation.

The car will drive with the receiver disconnected. If you have diagnostics, turn off the EKA and Immobiliser functions, then in case of problems you can enter and drive the car with just the key blade.
