there is one in each hub. These send signals to the abs ecu.

The abs ecu has detected a fault with the abs and disabled it. It has made you aware of this by illuminating the lights.
It should be fine to drive as the standard braking system will be working.
You don't have working abs and it will not pass an MOT so it will need to be fixed soon.

Use the freelander forum for problems with your freelander, you get a better response and hopefully less ribbing.
