Well this is my first post actually showing how and what I've been doing. Since it's Saturday night and I'm half asleep, I'll most likely have to update or edit this post in future replies.

On to the photos:

This is what i started with. I already cut the ends off and split it down the middle to help me get it out. I used a screw driver to flip the lip up and it didn't create any damage. Luckily.

And then....

With the new installation of the power door lock actuator, I had to move it before I started to chop everything up. The rusted door pieces looked like a damn Pillsbury ready dough can after use. So I had to cut a little higher than expected.

To be continued... Thanks for reading. Any observations/advice (the sole reason I post **** here) Is greatly appreciated! Cheers! I promise I'll get better at "blogging" my how to's. Sorry for the massive photos too.

This also celebrates my 50th post. I'm soooo not a bot maybe a bit of something that rhymes with bot this late on a Saturday night, but not a bot

They were yrm pieces, got them on eBay, guy had bought them and then sold the landy......look fine, just need to get cutting and welding now.....likely a few weeks time though

Well the sections I got were from eBay. Great quality just wrong part... The lift handle doors are "series 3" doors and I got the defender ones. oops. Luckily, it just sets me back 13 quid. I would advise when you do buy them, you buy 3 in your set because once you start hacking at it you'll notice you needed more. I had to remove more up the door frame because of the rust.

As for removing it off the door skin, easiest part! I did mine a bit messy because I got frustrated with how much hacking I had to do and that's never a good thing. I used a screw driver. I would think a putty spreader to start then a thin piece of wood to finish peeling it off would have worked better. This weekend I plan on finishing this door up and making the new fiberglass door card.

We'll see....the guy only had two for sale, however they were 1.5 m lengths, so I have three meters of repair pieces....I noticed quite a lot on ebay were 80cm pieces....

I'll try and do some photos at the same time
