Recently the drivers door lock wouldnt work when the fob was pressed but all others were fine. i would have to use the key to lock it seperately.

Today however i turned the key and something happened .... not sure what but the drivers door now wont lock at all!

Any ideas what i will need to fix it? New lock or just bits??

Yes I have had pretty much the same problem. The tailgate lock locks but will only unlock by turning the key. I've replaced the solenoid but to no avail. I have stripped down the mechanism. It feels as if there ought to be some kind of return spring mechanism to keep the locl/unlock position at full length of the solenoid. Also the front passenger door has just done the same. Again replacing the solenoid did not good. And at £50 per solenoid it hurts.
Anyone got any ideas what bits are missing/broken???

I also stripped it down and found that on the end of the barrell the plastic bit?? had warn and snapped stopping the key locking the door!
Have bought replacement barrell for the plastic bits from Baermach for £10

yep, had the same problem on mine, i left the hound in the car while i poped to the shop so i locked the landie with the key so's not to set the internal movement sensers and felt something go i may have been a little heavy handed and sure enough it was the little plastic bit on the end of the barrel. lucky enough i had a spare set of locks bought from the auto jumble at easnore for a bargain 2.50. replaced plastic bit, job done. not that i need to lock the landy with the hound in. he certainly stops the greenies covering it in stickers. ;)

Hi chrisjd
yes m8, quite an easy fix, my mechanical know hows a bit ltd but i found this to be easy enough. just take your time when your pulling off the interior trim, the little plastic fixings are easy to break.

Rather than pay £50 for one solenoid, you can get a full set of universals which will fit, £24 off ebay brand new.
