Door lock barrel replacement

Hi everyone,

I have a broken door lock barrel - anyone know what this would cost to replace with my existing keys? Can I only get this from the main dealer?

As an temporary fix - does anyone know how to lock the car so I can leave the dog in without using the driver door lock? Can seems to do this from the fob (hence need replacement).

Hi, spoke to main steeler - £118.87 for new barrel cut to match the key (based on chasis no).

Can these be got elsewhere for less?

try a breaker, any freelander barrel will do, just re-tumble it to suit your key.

if you're not happy re-tumbling, try a locksmith or auto locksmith. won't charge anywhere as much as a main stealer, probably even cheaper if you can take the vehicle to them as they won't have to charge call out / travel time

thanks for that. Managed to strip the door down and get the barrel out. It was just the little metal dirt protector that had got inside the lock. Picked that out and re-assembled! Total pain getting to the handle bolts. Works perfect now.
