Will look for one. Will an oil one from a series be waterproof as I like the water when I off road lol19j filter is approx half the size of a tdi one, might not be an issue if you change it often enough.

LOL I didn't mean that mate. I have a snorkel with a mushroom top going straight into the turbo air intake via no filter or box. The comfort that the only place water. Could leak in is if I sink the snorkel under the water or the clamp wasn't tight at the turbo. Adding an air box worries me with the fact water could get past the lid, or two more connections (in and out) plus they come with one of those poxy drains which could potentially suck water in when submerged. No airbox is waterproof, the air has to get in, the water can too.
Raise the intake up using a snorkel or suitable piece of tubing.

Anyway sorry for the thread hi Jack lol
Canna win lol! I'll keep an eye out for a 19j air filter box and stick It where it actually belonged in the first place. I'll also use the crank breather hole to actually put the crank breather on instead of venting to airRunning without an air filter would worry me anorl!

Current engine is blowing like mad but got a bottom end I'm rebuilding at the min so should be safe afterwards hahaGood plan! Not sure about the crank breather, though, direct to atmosphere is safe!

Just got to find one. Not paying 50 quid like folks on eBay want lolAlso, if you do fit a td box, check the condition of the rubber tit on the bottom, and replace if necessary. Water gets in them if they are old and perished!

I just need a small easy to fit waterproof filter haha.View attachment 104846 View attachment 104849
You used to be able to get a kit to fit a snorkel to an oil bath, but I doubt theres any left, seeing a series with a snorkel is a pretty rare thing.
Yer something like that haha less the effect of it being a turbine in it lolSomething like this? loads on ebay
