really dont know what to do need help on my emissions it failed its mot a few weeks ago on emissions was told its the catalytic so replaced the cats and middle box changed the oil and plugs no good still smokes its tits off it dont smoke on tick over but when reved to 2500rpm it starts to smoke but when the revs are down it settles and the smoke stops what eles could it be 4.6 petrol

Air filter has the lamba been checked and im not sure about your petrol adjustments but mixture correct?? diagnostics time mot stations can't tell you what has failed they can only assume !

Could be worn Piston Rings or Valve seals letting oil into the Combustion chamber....

Check that all the breather hoses and breather itself are not blocked - high crankcase pressures will cause high HCs.
could be lamba how do i know if there is a fault

Mixture is hard coded into the unit, only a remapped chip will adjust fueling maps and mixtures...
The system adjusts fuel trims over time to take into account driving style, fuel burn, knock sensor readings, crank speeds, Lambda burn data, Air Flow and temp etc and adjusts within certain preset limits....
If the fuel trims are out following a long time on old fuel, or on LPG and very little petrol running the trims could be out making it over or under fuel for given conditions...
No tsure if the Nanocom can reset the trims to default so the system will start learning from scratch again.....but I am sure it can't remap the fuel settings (the preset limits of the fuel trims).

Only if the lambda readings were so off scale the ECU didn't know what to do with the information!!!
