well ive got the new pump on and cant get the timing right... anybody know how to lock the bosch VE pump in the right place with the locking bolt on the side of the casing??

well after all the mither with the clutch it turns out the new master was fubard!
also im struggling to get the Bosch VE pump off the back of the Daf 45 Cummins 6BT as despite making a spanner to fit i still cant get the bottom nut off it!
look in a snap on catalogue under cummins tools to see the right shape to make it

SP #144 for anybody else who wants to see the correct tool

we made our own and got it off... though the wing gets in the way

get my 160hp pump back tomorrow with 3200rpm spring in it... and i have an +40hp fuel pin for it

after a 1:1.03 LT230 transfer box out of a 3spd auto range rover if anyone has one lay about?

hope to get it running by the weekend

nah need to talk to my cousin in aus about the oil capacities... with 13-16l in the crank seal leaks but its fine with 10l in (13-16 is the correct amount) and they wont pass the MOT with it hemeraging oil lol

haha thanks bud
latest update is my PAS fluid is dissapearing... so looking at all the piping when i get time
also the brakes are now Toss... lol

i need to get looking at it again and do all the little niggles haha

24-34mpg depending how steady i go!
these engines go from 80s all the way through to today (with tweaks like common rail etc)
if you read this thread all the way through from the start you will get a good idea on how ive done it but people have done it different ways in 110s.

personally if i was doing it again id take my time abit more... but its got really strong gearbox brackets now (10mm plate) and its double mounted so theres no movement. starts first time every time and runs sweet!
just need a correct cummins dipstick and a correct oil filler.

hi any one out there wishing to fit cummins daf 45 engines into land rovers will be glad to know ,top and bottom water outlets on the daf 45 engine can be changed very easily for outlets of a different model..the bus engines all have different angles....the starter motor can be spaced using a genuine cummins spacer...stop solenoids changed from 24v-12v....the cummins engine in question is very easy to modify..earlier ones being around 130bhp nonturbo...(6b)...a daf 45 turbo version (6bt) and again for the daf 45 is a turbo intercooled version (6bta)..they can also be fitted with after coollers which are a simple fit but sit verticle on engine. The bhp on these engines with the bosh rotary pump range from 130,150,160,180bhp....it is a simple conversion to uprate bhp on the 6bts...cummins also do a 210bhp,235bhp engine which has a larger inline bosch pump...with a wastegate turbo.......anyone needng a starter spacer, water fittings, oil fillers etc...please contact me has my main job is reconditioning cummins b series
