Chap's and chapesses,

I would like to ask for some of your soundest advise if I may, I have recently bought a p38 2.5 dse, after sorting out all the problems it had for its mot three weeks later I ended up spending another £860 getting it all sorted out. (the clutch fork arm/roll pins went, but I can't take the gear box out at the side of the road so off she went to my mates garage, I got him to do the arm and pins but seen as he had it I asked him to do a new clutch/new oil cooler and pipes/two belts/fuel filter/sump gasket/rocker cover gasket/fuel filter/oil filter/two tyres fitted on and tracking done, I supplied the parts and he done the work all in all for £860 parts and labour I can't complain at that)

However, I have had it back not even two weeks and the immobiliser has gone down not related I know, but sure enough annoying all the same.

So last night after the nice chap from the AA had been and told me the bad news code 027, I was straight on here seeking advice, and have come to the conclusion that my best option would be to set it a light:mil56: ....... I mean buy the black box sync mate which I did and hopefully it should be here tomorrow. If that dose not work what would you do next?? (no I'm not going to set it alight be fore you suggest it.... Not yet I don't quit that easy, maybe next week)

Also I have the dreaded weird battery syndrome from what you guys say on here and what the guy that I bought it off has said it points to the RF box in the back.... Where's the best place to get one of those??

Any help would be fantastic
Many thanks
Tom

Blimey, that's one clever little box of tricks! after the month I've had though, there's no way I could of got that, maybe next pay day though:) I will just have to pray for today and hope it works!
I did read some where on here that someone got sold a dud RF receiver from island 4x4, which is such a pity as they are only half an hour away from me, and sometimes I have to go to alpha electronics to get some of our equipment for work and it is just across the road from there.
How would I know which is the better/newer version of the receiver?

That is without doubt a one off....Island 4x4 have never been a bother for me in the few years I have used them (no affiliation - just a satisfied customer)

+1 ant
I spoke to island4x4 when I purchased my RF and they said they had only ever had 2 units returned from the same customer off here? Both where checked and found to be NOT faulty..it was another problem the customer had! I've found there service spot on..

Island 4 x 4 are a good company, you will not have a problem with a receiver from them. If you were unlucky (very unlikely) they change the unit. To see which version the receiver is, take it out of it's housing and compare to the photo just posted by mozz smith.

Did he tell you what code 027 was because i don't have a bloody clue?
Thats how many Zeros are added to the repair bill...:D

From the OP post....'chap from the AA had been and told me the bad news code 027....'

We have a similar thing at work when one of the Customers (who is a pain in the backside) comes in...we just start waffling large words and production codes into the conversation that mean feck all and is just a bunch of BS, but he sits there nods and goes '...Yeah, Yeah I agree, We once had a similar thing in our place...oh yeah I agree with out that part that costs £4m the Fan Case Rubber Sprag Flange Carrier Mount will crack - yep seen it before...'

Unless you can get a definitive for Code 027 - the AA man could have been giving you a bit of spin and waffle cos he was late home, this was his last call and he wanted a cup of tea and watch the match!!

Saint,

This guy from the AA he was a great help and he even changed the fuel leak pipe as it had cracked and started to leak, he spent about an hour trying to get her started and that's before he plugged in the OBD:monitor_punch: In all fairness this was at half ten at night and bloody cold so fair play to him.... I would of even give him a tip if I had any cash on me as I thought he really did try, unlike some of there guys

Wammers,

This what is what his computer actually said, hope it helps?

Code 027 - Engine immobilisation/alarm system on engine - status fault is current sensor reading is too high - wire or sensor fault.

My black box turned up yesterday but from where I kept try to start the car the other night the battery was to flat to crank the old girl over, I have had it on charge over night whilst at work so hopefully give some point in the next hour I stick it back in and see if it worked..... Fingers crossed I'll update later and let you know.

Not sure but it maybe has lost ECM BECM sync.

She's alive I tell ya! Thank god for that little black box, it's probably not but to me it was worth it's weight in gold!!

Thanks for all the help guys! and the sound advice! Next on the list, is going to be the RF receiver, followed by investigations into why the rear sags.... So no doubt I'll be bugging you some more soon... Hope you don't mind!
