Does anyone else's tailgate window open by itself?!

Was leaving for work this morning & noticed the tailgate window was open.
I know I hadn't left it like this 2 days ago!
I put the key in the rear lock & it closed perfectly fine so there doesn't seem to be a problem with the motor.

2 days ago I disconnected the battery & removed the starter motor. Have reconnected the battery to close all the locks, etc.
Would this have confused the rear window?

Everytime you re-connect the battery, the rear window will automatically go fully down.

It needs to be 're-calibrated' - dead simple. You just use the button to lower the window all the way down in one go. Then all the way up again without stopping.

If you stop halfway the window will just go back down again.

last Wednesday i was sat in my car waiting to pick up the mrs and my back window went down on its own then as it went down the the bloody cable snapped arrrrrrrrrr

fitted new regulator last night all good upto now

Mine goes down when the battery is disconnected but not on its own. I can't raise mine with the key though, only the dash switch!

I thought that was normal....

Mine opens occasionally on its own, but it so far has alway been attributed to me holding the key fob against something and pushing the unlock button.

That could be the answer.
Since moving back in with my parents I've noticed my mum has a habit of choosing any random set of keys, pressing all the buttons until her car unlocks & if it doesn't, trying the next set of keys in the cupboard!

To lower a Freelander rear window you really have to keep the 'unlock' button on the fob pressed for a good few seconds.

Very easy if you sit on it of course.

Lots of folks don't know that you can raise the rear window by putting the key in the rear door handle and turning it clockwise. (or is it anti-clockwise?)

I can't remember - but it's definitely one or the other LOL. ;) :p

I posted a couple of weeks ago that I was parked up at B&Q when a Disco driver got out of his car parked behind me, locked his car via the fob and promptly opened my tailgate window in doing so!!
