A tatty td5 90 has appeared over night in a local quiet road.
Reg checks out as a 200tdi with no mot history for past 7 years, although it has a new one.
No signs it's stolen so maybe a false id or stolen.
Report to Crime stoppers, local police or what do you think?

Well, it's now gone, doubt the police had time to go and see it.
Will keep an eye out and check police to see if they had recovered it.

Guess the police did nothing as it just about rammed my son off the road in his Ninety this evening.
Had a drive around but didn't find it.
Report to the police again I guess, that will be the 3rd time!

So, I reported it again online and got a reply saying it checks out electronically, well of course it does!
So I rang them up and explained all the differences between a TD5 and a TDI. I also pointed out that of course it checks out electronically, hardly going to put a plate on a TD5 with a plate from a mini.
I also asked why they haven't done anything with the cctv evidence for the theft of a trailer it was involved with last year.
I have also given them the address where it is currently parked.
Over a week later, it's still parked in the same place and no action taken, useless.

I expect it will go the way it usually does when something is held under the nose of authority and they choose to ignore it - someone ends up getting hurt or killed, they have an inquiry, lots of hand wringing, lessons will be learnt etc etc, anybody still looking? No? OK, as you were....

Id slash the tryes oh wait what size are they..

Any chance you can get the VIN number and pass it to Police? Is there any obvious damage to door locks or ignition which might support it being nicked which might prompt the police to do something?

Just found it on Landywatch, complete with damaged ignition barrel. Report it again, emphasising the damaged ignition and it being a cloned number plate. The VIN will confirm if stolen.

Well, it's getting a bit stranger.
I am tempted to think there is two vehicles being used with the same reg. One being a td5 and the other (one on Landywatch) being a tdi.

Some from today

100% 2 different vehicles.
The one reported in Slough on Landywatch MIGHT well be the owner of that reg and is a tdi.
The other I reported various times is a post 2002 TD5 using the fake id. Very similar at a glance as they are both green ( and that's about it)
