I had a customer buy a disco with 10 months MoT. He asked me to look at the chassis as there is a little rot needs attending to.

I promptly told him to get back in touch with the garage he bought it from only 2 weeks ago!!!

We had a Rover 45 come in once with similar issues. It had past the last MoT Test no drama (believe only 3 months since test), but the owner had gone over a speed bump which tore off the side skirt and wanted us to staple it back on, when we noticed the whole of the B pillar was disconnected from the sill. Speaking to the chap who did the MoT Test he claimed because of the skirt he wouldn't have been able to inspect the area at fault because it was hidden.

It is quite scary when you think about it. How many other vehicles in the roads are in such appalling condition?

No come back after three months on rust unfortunately. Should be, i have seen some right rot boxes that could not possibly have deteriorated to the condition they were in over three months. Half of the people who work for VOSA don't know what they are looking at anyway, so it's no good talking to them.

That is what we thought when we saw the damage. There was no way it could've gone that far wrong in 3 months. It was years of corrosion, unless the owner parked his car sill deep in the sea every night.

think reputable garages went out of the window with the resession. just spent a day replacing the timing cover gasket replaced the water pump while i was there. heater wasnt working propery after id done till i started to rev it a little bit hopefully got rid of any air locks that might be in there
