Hi,

I don't really do the whole forum thing but found myself on here after a transfer box problem came up on my dash, and there seems to be some pretty clever folks on here so thought I'd join!

Just looking to see if anyone may be able to shed a bit of light on a couple of small issues I'm having with my 2002 td6 l322.

The first problem is that the writing on the dashboard ( mileage, temperture, warning messages are displayed) the lettering is broken up with parts of the letters missing. Is this a new dash job, or is there a sneeky fix to put the everything back to normal?

The second problem seems to be a fairly common fault area for the range rover, the air suspension displaying as inactive. I know all the bags are fine as they are all inflated, however i can hear a "ticking" noise coming from where the compressor is. Is this because there is a fault in the system and the compressor is trying to run or is the ticking the problem?!
I'd really appreciate some guidance if possible.

Cheers

dash pixel fading is a common problem with the early L322's.

its an easy fix.

send off you dash / dials to a refurb company like bmwpixelfix.com who will fix it. i wouldnt recommend trying to DIY the replacement ribbon cable

just means you wont be able to use the car for a few days without the dash ! lol

suspension inactive could be a few problems causing that.

the only real way of knowing is to get it on some diagnostics equipment.

which any L322 owner should have in their garage ! lol :D

Do I feel a confessional is about to occur ?

Prey do tell ! :p

p.s - I got a ribbon in stock to do mine (eventually) !

ahaha,

i bought a ribbon to "fix" my original MID stereo that also had the fading pixels...

it didn't work, and i pretty much ended up fecking the unit up

and im usually pretty good with stuff like that, and i struggled.

i wouldn't even dream about doing the dash one as it requires you to take apart the needles out of their dials !! Feck that !
