As per the title really. Changed fuel pump and put over 30Lts of diesel in. Gauge showed only 1/8th of a tank where it should be around a third of a tank.
 
Gauge sender should be set correctly as received. If you have bent the float arm on assembly that would give a bad reading. Sounds like your float arm has been bent up needs bending down until it sits at rest just short of bottom of pump to give a slight reserve. Best to have around five litres in tank when gauge shows empty.
 
As Wammers says.
Diagnostics just forces the gauges to read either empty, 1/4 full, 1/2 full, 3/4 full and full in order to check accuracy.
In the case of the temp. gauge, it forces it to read Cold, Normal and Hot positions.

It does not calibrate the gauges nor senders..

Yes you do.
The procedure is as follows.
You phone me up and wait for me to arrive.
You fill your tank with diesel
I then pump it out into my Rangie whilst you check your fuel gauge.
When mine reads full and yours reads empty the job is done and I leave.
For true accuracy this should be repeated about once a week for a while/
