You laddie are part of the "must have" consumer generation, you need a big car to boost your image, you've probably got a tattoo to go with it.
For me my daily drive is a means of getting from A to B comfortably, safely, and at as fuel cost I can afford. It also has to be able to climb the hill in the snow, be cheap to buy and have all the info necessary available to fix it. If it had been fixable, I would still have my Hyundai Galloper, now that was slow.
I have never bought a new car with my own money in my life, but I did have enough cash to pack up work at 55 and buy my water mill in France. You sonny will most likely be working until you are 70 especially if you waste money on buying image motors with your own cash.
As Wammers said in his reply, the early L322's are crap, 2006 on are better but expensive, they do nothing that my P38 will not do at a fraction of the cost.
Oh and I buy my parts from the UK so the same price as you pay
