My son has a honda civic and says he can put a paperclip in the diagnostic plug and the fault codes come up in a series of dots and dashes - this can then be translated to the specific fault. Can you do this on a Range Rover, because I'm mighty p*ssed off with keep having to give my local 4x4 5o quid a time to tell me what's wrong.

i can do it with my supra, the management light flashes, its a pity it dont work on r/r's though, it would be bloody handy.

I think that you can on the Classic but not on the P38. Read somewhere that the classic flashes a light somewhere, dont know where, but the classic never went wrong, if it did a spanner would fix it but the P38 needs a laptop :)
