Just thought I'd show my effort at extended bump stops as I didn't want to pay around £60 for a set.

Construction is hydulignum (hard as nails laminate) base, 4 layers of tyre and vulcanised rubber top.

Cost was just £12 for the vulcanised rubber :)

I admire your work :) but where did you get the flo-flex one from? Did you buy a set just to compare? ;) :D

Didn't think about using standard ones, just fancied making some.

Bought a single extended stop from paddocks to get an idea of size and design. don't need it now if anyone wants to make an offer.

How much was it? Just bought a set of Standard height Stainless plate Flo-flex stops for £60 delivered off ebay, not too bad really :rolleyes:

you cheap bastard :eek::eek:

don't think that will last very long :p

Not a fan myself but I see nowt wrong wih the material if it has a rubber face. Years gone by you were allowed to use hard wood as spacers for roll cages! Even now you can use a plastic laminate of suitable stength and material properties as a packer as long as its not wood.

Doh I thought it was a plastic and not wood. Sorry I think that's gonna rot hold water against a very weak point on your chassis and be laughed at by the Mot man. Top marks for effort tho. Try some box section with a plate welded in and longer bolts or pay another 15 quid and get the rears done and then do the fronts another month

lol yes I am cheap... but also skint so needs must. I'd have poly ones given the choice.

It's not just wood. Its laminated under high pressure with glue/resin which impregnates the wood so wont rot or hold water. It's extremely strong.

MOT man won't mind ;)
