Td5 I've got delete pipe but no gaskets just wondering before i rip the box offTd5 or V8?
If you are getting a centre delete pipe I would have thought it would come with some gaskets, but I think the td5 doesn't need them as the ends are flared. I'm not definate as I cut mine off
I didn't when I did it. But it had no effect so I put the box back on for the MOT and just left it there! Was looking at getting rid of middle box do I need any gaskets
Middle box is rotten that's why I thought I'd just put center pipe on it's had a decat already thankyou for infoI didn't when I did it. But it had no effect so I put the box back on for the MOT and just left it there!
If i was going to go down that road I'd buy a complete sports exhaust like I did for the D1 300 tdi which made a heck of a difference.
So its one pipe sliding into another then.Td5 I've got delete pipe but no gaskets just wondering before i rip the box off
Jointing paste so there is no gaskets then thanksSo its one pipe sliding into another then.
So get yourself a tube of exhaust jointing paste, which even works on an exhaust system’s bolted flange joints… which my D1 has.

The other side of the pipe has only two bolts on it can't find gasket for that sideYou ought to need one for each end and as you say, not expensive!
Check the exhaust when you take it off, if there are gaskets, replace em, if not don't bother just use Gun gum or whatever. The other side of the pipe has only two bolts on it can't find gasket for that side
Ha ok let's hope I don't have to sweat Thanks for everything mateCheck the exhaust when you take it off, if there are gaskets, replace em, if not don't bother just use Gun gum or whatever.
No sweat at all!
Spray all bolts/nuts with a suitable easing fluid, I like a mix of acetone (Nail varnish remover, not the Non acetone type) and ATF. but obvs some sort of WD40 type thing would do. Then leave it a bit and respray. Although TBH I didn't find mine any trouble. You could also think about replacing with brass nuts though there's been a lot of controversy about doing this.Ha ok let's hope I don't have to sweat Thanks for everything mate
