Hi have just bought a 3.9 v8 engine to replace the blown engine that's already in my 1998 discovery. But the engine that's in it is a 3.9 v8 mounted to a manual gearbox but the engine I've got is from an auto. I've had a look on the net and can't find out what needs swapping between the engines to get the new engine from the auto to fit the manual, can someone please shine some light on my problem.

Spigot bush is made of phosphor bronze. You can lever them out carefully. Some come out easier than others!
They are only a couple of quid so fit a new one. You'll need to soak the new one in oil for a bit before you fit it, though...

Flywheel is held on by 8 (IIRC) bolts. 9/16 socket (again IIRC). Fit a socket on and give it a sharp tap with the palm of your hand. It'll crack off eventually. If you're feeling lazy you can use air tools I suppose.
You will need a really thin walled socket to get the bolts off though!
If you've not got one that's suitable, buy a single socket from a motorfactors and modify it with a grinder.
Everyone that works with rover V8's will accrue a few home brew tools knocking around - oil pump priming tool for example! ;)

If you do decide to remove the spigot bearing find a piece of metal rod that will just into the bearing, fill the bearing hole with grease and then tap the rod into hole with a sharp tap,the grease will force the spigot bearing out quite easily.
