Hello
I have a 2001 Disco TD5. There is a whining noise when the ignition is turned on which has become progressively worse. Over the last few days it has become difficult to start and whining can be heard above the engine. Today, it would only start after about 20 seconds turning over. Once its running, its fine though!
Replaced fuel filter - no change.
Is the next option the injector seals?
Or fuel pump?
Update - having read other threads on here, I checked the red ECU connector from the injectors and it is oily. I have given it a bit of a clean up and it seems to be running fine - need to replace the unit as other have indicated.

Any help greatly appreciated.
