OK, anyone who saw my thread http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/simple-sleeping-storage-platform-188841.html and who asked about the school tables I used initially .. I have a few available now!
21 1/2" high to desktop, 21 1/2" wide and 43" long
All that needs to be done to make a single storage and sleeping platform is cut 6" off one ends legs, chuck that in the drivers side rear footwell, after folding the rear backrest over, short end to the rear, and the other table cut 6" off all four legs of the other table and chuck that in the boot crossways.
OK, you need to faff a bit to bolt 'em down or strap them in, but it served me well ..
I'd guess they could also be used as a double if you used 3 tables.
Prices, collected ... 1 table £6, 2 tables £10, 3 tables £14
I only have a limited number available, you can have them with the desk tops still fitted (4 screws), or just as a frame to add your own tops on (what I did) but I need to dispose of them pretty quickly, certainly within three weeks. We just had a load of new desks delivered and these will just be weighed in if no-one takes them.
We also have a load of desktops, 21 1/2" wide by 43" long, with very good quality melamine tops that are about 1/2" thick, very sturdy, if anyone wants any for table tops or workshop shelving etc. Undersides are mostly scratched (Character?) or with various labels etc Some of the laminates have nicks out of them, but they're glued pretty damn securely and not hazardous at all. Some brown, most grey.
Collected 3 for £6
Possibly more available later as we update other classrooms, but when they are available, it won't be for long as we don't have storage for them!
