I have a Discovery ES Premium for sale.
These pictures were taken this weekend and a liberal ammount of tyre dressing was used to bring all the black bits back.
This is not show truck, its seen a few green lanes and there are age related marks and scratches on the body, but I think she scrubs up well when you stand back.
Good points:
solid boot floor and sills.
The only rust that might need sorting if you want to is the front inner wings, but they are not too bad.
Electric sunroofs and seats all working.
fairly new 2" lift springs and dampers
General Grabber 31" AT's on black modular rims.
Has been given a recent full service including diff oils, gearbox oil and transfer box fluid
Gearbox replaced with an Ashcroft refurbished box.
All UJ's greased regularly.
Long MOT and Tax.
Full Cream Leather interior.
7 seats.
Aftermarket head unit and uprated speakers.
Recent Cambelt change.
New swivel ball, and CV last year.
It Drives great, my wife does 80 miles a day for work and loves it which is part of the reason I need to sell it.
1. We didn't get the weather to make it worth keeping this year.
2. Its costing to much in fuel as a daily runner for us.
3. I've not had one running so well before and I hate selling cars with problems so now is a great time to move on.
Bad Points, Now this is something you need to know, it probably wont ever make a difference on vehicles like this where engines are swapped regularly but it important.
This is 2 Landrovers.
I had my old one which was mechanically sound and I spent a lot of time and money keeping it that way, that one had 148'000 miles on.
The trouble was the boot floor was gone which I stripped out and brought all the panels for, but my friend who is a welding god got very busy in his day job so it stayed without a floor or rear seats for months.
I then purchased a sound Premium model to use as a daily.
The origional one had a dodgy Auto box, kept holding in first when cold, so I brought an Ashcroft box off a friend who brought it for a project he abandoned.
Then the new Premium Model decided to kill its box shortly after buying it.
Origional plan was to fit Ashcroft box into new Landy, but complications getting the old one out led to the body to come off the chassis.
Shortly after the other floorless disco decided the gearbox was finished as well.
As the mechanicals were perfect and looked after on the old one it was decided to put the gearbox in that and drop the solid body onto that. The chassis is solid as well by the way.
I kept the R Reg Premium reg, but unfortunately the 200'000 milage on the clocks stayed as well.
I havn't informed the DVLA as I was told they might issue a Q plate so if anybody questions the engine number it has been changed like so many have.
The chassis number doesn't match but I dont know why anybody would ever check that. I just want to be honest and not sell this to anybody without the full facts.
I still have both log books which can be passed to the new owner and signed over. I still even have the old rolling chassis.
Now the painfull part.
I want £2'500 just because it is a good one and they are getting rare.
I'm not in a hurry to sell, the missus is gonna be upset as it is.
PM Me if you want to arrange a viewing.
Thank you.
