I have a 1996 Discovery 300TDi and one of the rear wheel arches (the bit that intrudes into the passenger compartment, not the little bit that runs along the bottom of the door) looks as if it is going to resemble a swiss cheese shortly.
How difficult is it to replace the panel?
Where can I find instructions on how to do the job?
All advice gratefully received.

Brand new arches are available.

If you go to the "Members Vehicles" forum and rummage around in the various threads on Discoveries and Range Rover Classics there will no some interesting reading.

Failing that, keep an eye on my build thread in that section, search "Project Rusty" and within the next few weeks I will be replacing both wheel arches, boot floor, floor supports and side panels.

The rear outer quarter panels have to come off and then it needs to be extracted, dozens of spot welds, and even then that's assuming the surrounding panels are good? But fear not, welder an 1.5mm plate and blaze away.

Thank you.

I would sand that panel to make sure that it isn't just surface rust.ou might be lucky! My Disco has a little bit of similar rust but on the underside it was perfect. I just cleaned it up and repainted.
