Hi i have a discovery 3 with a rumble on acceleration around 30mph, you only have to touch the accelerator and its there and as soon as you take your foot off it goes! Done diff oils and transfer box oil and engine oil plus checked wheel bearings?
Also noticed that sometimes for example you slow down then accelerate you get a little clonk or bang from transmission?
Anyone got any suggestions please?

Check the centre bearing on the rear prop shaft, the rubber is known to split and perish, possible cause of knock while pulling away.
Wear in the transmission is likely also

It sounds like its coming from the front diff but not sure
The front diff makes a grumbling sound and is obviously faulty when the oil is drained, as it'll have silvery flecks in the oil.

That's what the rumble was on mine. The rubber bearing support had completely disintegrated.
Once I replaced the propshaft, I then heard the diff grumbling so rebuilt that too.

When you say you rebuilt the front diff did you strip and replace all the bearings?

Theres some how to posts on the D3 forum on the wiki bit, apparently the diff runs std defender wheel bearings!

Yes. It wasn't a difficult job and made so much difference to the ambient noise of the vehicle. It was definitely worth the £80 the rebuild kit cost to buy. I'm used to rebuilding gearboxes and diffs, so for me it was easy. I actually found it harder to get the diff out and in again, than the rebuild itself.
I did a thread on the rebuild on another forum.
