Hi

I have multiple errors on my disco 3, HDC, Parking Brake, Suspension, Lo waring light and ABS after being parked up for a year. Don't suppose anyone can lend me a fault reader for a day in the Bedford area? Can travel to collect and leave a deposit or something. Its got no Mot so I cant move it. Thanks in advance.

....or advice on cheapest code reader that will allow me to view non ecu error codes and program air suspension, maybe beyond economical repair for mot so want to keep costs as low as possible

Have a look at the Icarsoft 930, pretty sure you cannot programme with it, for that you need the Gap IID but that is 4 times the cost, and tbh not needed by most folk.
All the codes will be stored in an ecu somewhere, for reviews on the 930 see youtube

Why have you got to programme it?

Sounds like you need the GAP IID, 500 quid seems to be current price.

Fixed the hdc traction control and epb error by pulling fuse f30 and turning on ignition, turning back off and then replacing the fuse. All errors gone now except suspension fault. System pressures up ok but if i try to adjust the height i then get the error. Some progress at least....

I would suspect the exhaust valve on the compresser .........check Youtube for a "how to Fix it"

I'd strip and clean all the control valves, which do get gummed up with dirt and moisture, causing them to stick either open or closed.

Surely theres a cheaper alternative to IID or someone can lend/hire one?

IID are vin locked, to get unlocked ones are 2k each, so people tend not to lend them!

For you susp error any gaarge will be able to give you a code for a price, but then you are half the way cost wise to the icarsoft.
To run a rr/d3/d4 you must have a code reader. not a 20 quid generic cheapie either, it sounds harsh but no large modern lr is cheap to run.
The upside of the carsoft and iid is they both sell very well second hand, so you will get most of your money back.

Have you checked to see what sort of comressor is fitted?

An unlocked lID tool is not 2k  you can buy a sh llD tool for 250ish then buy a vin code for your car for not a lot from the gap web site. They really are the only decent tool for this car.

Wow you can get iid for only 250, you sir are a magician, 325/350 2nd hand plus the unlock code then you are nearer the truth, I do hate it when people round down what they paid for stuff:rolleyes:
I think you will find IID pro is 2k

You don't need to buy the Pro version
https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/shop/

I’m pretty certain I did not say you had to buy the pro tool?
What I was trying to explain to the op was the Protool which is unlocked to multiple vins is very expensive hence the reason people will not lend them out, which is what the Op was asking i.e. can someone lend him the tool.

I am not even sure the Op is reading the replies to this thread as further up I asked him what sort of compressor he had and he has not replied?

The lld tool works on all landrovers out of the box it's the programming and advanced functions that need to be unlocked to vin.
I don't think the op has come back either
