Only have 3 D3 and 2 D4 so far going to sell Two of D3s keep one or more of D4 going to concentrate more on D4s but looking at D sports too, would be welcomed with tea, but let me get workshop extension finished as Is a bit of a dump here at the moment Lol

Another change of plan stripped a few more parts off D4 today lots of oil in intercooler pipes, bypass valve was expected but lot of oil down the back of motor too but not sure is all from turbos at this point so decided to pull the motor at the weekend give it a proper going over, wanted to have a good look anyway at vacuum system in particular
just got to finish D3 over next couple of days should button up top end tomorrow then just transfer box and exhaust to do

Went well today back on D3 top and sides all back together
Just transfer box, exhaust and related bits and Bob's underneath to do, should be out of workshop (shed) by weekend, and D4 in, looking forward to seeing if the same method of removing the motor and box is workable seems so
Lot of oil was leaking at bottom end it seems, not convinced that it was all coming from turbos, so going to order a bottom end gasket sets and a couple of gallons of brake cleaner, parts cannon primed

Thanks mate didn't know that, at first look at what I can see it does seem bottom end ladder rack down but no oil trail from turbos or small crack in rocker box if you see what I mean, will have a better idea when motors out, yes will check both ends of crank going to do belts at same time, may as well do sump, ladder rack, and all the other seals and gaskets bottom end wise will post pics as I go, many thanks

Hi all transfer box on all hooked up, no real dramas, just back part of exhaust to fit, battery on trickle, start up tomorrow if weather and work permits me time
Keep getting sidetracked as other jobs keep happening but getting there
Done no more to D4 apart from a look around seems the motor will come out in a similar manor to D3, which is lucky as don't have many other options hoping to leave as much on as possible

Tried first start up yesterday no dice, got a code for fuel regulator open circuit and fuel rail sensor dynamics unit shutting everything down big F
So decided to check all plugs and wiring and low and behold HP pump regulator plug not fully home, so cleaned it plugged it in reassembled fuel lines tried again, ignition on no codes all gone, low and behold it started sounds fine no knocks well so far oil pressure quite quickly
no leaks well so far good throttle response and idles beautiful
Still got to fill gearbox about 2/3liters to go, slight induction leak on v inlet doing this afternoon but all good so far
Everything working so cautiously optimistic and happy
306dt rocker boxes seem to have made no difference at this point apart from acoustically have to admit sounds different will try to add a video when I work out how all the best
