I've made a batch of diff flange pullers to suit the Discovery 300tdi's 3-bolt rear diff flange. They're basic but solid, and available for £10 + £3 P&P. Pictured below prior to getting a coat of paint. Works with an M8 bolt to pull the centralising pin out of the flange, revealing the flange retaining nut. Ideally apply some heat beforehand to soften the threadlock as otherwise it's possible to strip the thread on your bolt.

These are a cost-effective alternative to the official Land Rover tool LRT-51-008 (about £170, for no obvious reason...). Sure, you could make something to do the job, but this will save you the hassle for not a lot of cash.

Just an Update, I bought one of these of David, I can honestly say I've tried and tested it and it works great. Very strong and well made one of the best 13 quids I've spent that's 10 quid plus postage.
Don't wait until you've wasted your money on crap get one bought.
And no I bought mine and I'm not sponsored just thought if someone can go to the trouble of knocking up something up at a good price for us lads and lasses it's worth mentioning.

Still got a few left - these save a lot of hassle when changing a Disco diff flange. The Land Rover official tool (LRT-51-008) goes for £170! This is cheap and basic and does the job.

Yep, I realise that, but bit desperate to get that damn flange centraliser out. Thought this would be a reasonable choice.
Never mind back to the drawing board

I need to do it too mate that’s why my eyes lit up when I saw this. I’ll weld one up when I get onto it but guess you need one sharpish?

Yes the vehicle is up on stands in the drive now. Might try the old socket plus 8mm bolt with nut. I'll try and find some high tensile 8 x 50 or somethig like that. Bit of heat, wind in the bolt, tighten the nut, get the clump hammer going, wind a bit more on etc etc. If the bolt shears grind a couple of flats on to the centralsier peg and get the stilsons on to it. Could work

Ah, I've not been getting updates from this thread! Yes, I've still got a few of these. They're not fancy but they do work.
